 Jana SkewesJana Skewes, President and CEO
Jana Skewes is responsible for the overall direction and success of Shared Health®.

Skewes has more than 20 years experience in healthcare financing and delivery. Previously, she served as senior vice president of marketing and government programs for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in Rochester, NY. There, Skewes launched a series of consumer-driven health care products, introduced programs targeting the uninsured, created a multi-million dollar initiative to reduce obesity, developed and launched a series of Medicare Advantage products and created a state-wide Medicaid Managed Care program.

Skewes, who has a bachelor’s degree in Health Planning and a Master’s degree in Health Systems Management, also served as the pediatric hospital administrator for Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. She lives with her husband and three children in Signal Mountain, TN.

 

 

 Linda Matern

Linda Matern, Chief Operating Officer
Linda Matern is responsible for overall business operations for Shared Health.

She has more than 35 years experience in business management, health care provider, information technology and consulting leadership.

Prior to her role at Shared Health, Matern served in executive sales and consulting management for Siemens Medical Solutions-Health Services. There, she managed services sales as well as consulting practices for almost a decade.

During her 20 years in the healthcare provider market, Matern served as Vice President at several of the country’s largest for-profit healthcare corporations managing both hospital and physician entities.

Matern, who holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a Master’s degree in Education, has been active in early adoption of EHR’s in the physician and hospital environments and continues to conduct strategic adoption engagements at academic medical centers, large health delivery organizations and group practices across the country.
 

Taffel

Bruce H. Taffel, M.D., Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Bruce Taffel is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for SharedHealth, a health information technology company building the applications and the service oriented architecture to support health information exchange.

In this role, he is responsible for articulating product development vision, establishing clinical terminology services and creating informatics capabilities supporting health care performance measurement, clinical decision support and the creation of clinical management tools. He has been a leader in various RHIO, state and national HIT initiatives, including Governor Bredesen’s Tennessee e-Prescribing Task Force. He currently serves on the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology’s (CCHIT) Board of Trustees as well as participating with CCHIT’s Privacy and Compliance Workgroup.

Dr. Taffel has also been on the Board of Directors for the National Alliance for Health Information Technology (NAHIT).

Previously, Dr. Taffel was Chief Medical Officer, Government Business and Emerging Markets for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee where he assisted with Medicaid and Medicare operations, quality management and network performance incentives and improvement. Dr. Taffel was a founding member of CareSpark, a NE Tennessee RHIO, and served on the CareSpark Board of Directors. Dr. Taffel co-founded two health information companies.

Dr. Taffel has a BS in Psychology from Cornell University and an MD degree from New York University. He is Board Certified in OB-GYN and a member of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA).

 Kim WagnerKim Wagner, Chief Information Officer
Kim Wagner is responsible for all Information Technology planning, development and implementation for Shared Health.

Wagner has more than 17 years experience in healthcare executive management, information technology, and solution sales leadership. She has provided technology vision and leadership to a range of senior management teams in all aspects of the health care industry including hospitals, integrated delivery healthcare systems, information technology vendors and individual physician practices.

Prior to Shared Health, Wagner served in executive sales and consulting management roles for Siemens Medical Solutions and HBO & Company.

In the capacity of a CIO, Wagner is responsible for leading and managing a complex information technology portfolio of people, infrastructure, systems, processes and projects that support the strategic and tactical
needs of Shared Health.

Wagner holds degrees in Business Administration and Management
Information Systems from Kennesaw State University and a B.S. in Management from Walden University.
